Hello! I am Maricar Hernandez, a cultural exchange teacher from Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines. I have been at Edmore Public School as a Math teacher since last year. I graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics at Saint Mary’s University, Philippines. I finished the academic requirements in Master of Arts in Teaching Math at Nueva Vizcaya State University, Philippines. I have been in the teaching profession for 15 years. It is always exciting to teach and share experiences with students. This year, I am teaching Math for middle school, Algebra 1 for freshmen, and Algebra 2 for junior high school. Last summer I got the chance to go home in the Philippines and spent quality time with my children, Marc and Thania. We traveled to Bicol where we had seen the Mayon Volcano, a popular tourist spot because of its perfect cone(symmetric conical shape). It was amazingly beautiful! I also got the chance to visit Las Vegas, San Diego and San Francisco. To go and cross the Golden Gate was one of my childhood dreams. It was an awesome experience! I am ready and excited to spend another year at Edmore Public School. I am eager to teach Math, share experiences and make a difference in my students' lives. I am looking forward to a great year with everyone!
